Strathfield is one of Sydney's grand old garden suburbs, and the housing stock reflects it: large Federation and Californian bungalow homes, interwar brick residences and plenty of designated heritage-conservation streetscapes around The Boulevarde and Redmyre Road. Period homes like these very often still carry decades-old wiring, rubber or VIR cabling, and undersized switchboards with no room for modern safety switches.
